Part Time - Custodian

About the Role

The High School Custodian maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by performing routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and event setup to support school operations.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and other areas, including floor care, dusting, and window cleaning.
• Performing minor maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and reporting repairs.
• Assisting with snow removal and ensuring safe building access.
• Setting up and takedown for school events, ensuring facilities are prepared.
• Adhering to safety protocols, handling chemicals properly, and securing premises.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in custodial or facilities maintenance is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cleaning tools, methods, and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and effective communication skills.

Work Environment

Work occurs throughout the school, requiring physical activity, exposure to cleaning chemicals, and adherence to safety standards. The role may involve other duties to support overall school operations.
