About the role
The custodian ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students by maintaining the cleanliness and safety of school facilities and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning classrooms, corridors, and restrooms
- Maintaining grounds through yard work
- Inspecting and securing doors
- Performing minor repairs
- Moving furniture
- Reporting repairs or emergencies
- Adhering to safety and disposal procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid driver's license
Skills
- Knowledge of custodial practices
- Knowledge of safety procedures
- Operation of maintenance tools and equipment
Physical demands
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing
- Outdoor work in various environmental conditions
Performance is evaluated annually, with responsibilities adjusted for part-time or shorter-term roles.
