About the Role
Operate radiographic and CT equipment to produce diagnostic images following physician directives.
Responsibilities
- Perform radiology procedures accurately and efficiently per established standards.
- Identify and escalate urgent cases to radiologists or referring practitioners.
- Review exam indications and report inappropriate requests.
- Ensure complete and accurate data for image interpretation.
- Utilize PACS, RIS, HIS, and EMR systems, and handle clerical duties.
- Archive and retrieve images, send images to radiologists, and create CDs as needed.
- Understand medical and legal responsibilities related to imaging reports and data security.
- Maintain departmental policies, safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Assist and mentor staff and students, and participate in training and orientation.
- Support record keeping and compliance with accreditation and safety standards.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or certification from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT Certification required within 60 days of hire.
- Visual acuity and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and legal implications of imaging data.
