About the role
Responsible for operating radiographic and CT equipment to produce diagnostically accurate images as directed by physicians.
Responsibilities
- Perform radiology procedures efficiently and according to standards and protocols.
- Identify urgent cases and communicate with radiologists or referring practitioners promptly.
- Review exam indications and report any inappropriate requests.
- Provide complete and accurate exam data for radiologist interpretation.
- Utilize computer systems such as PACS, RIS, HIS, and EMR; handle clerical duties.
- Archive and retrieve images, send images to radiologists, and create CDs as needed.
- Understand the medical and legal responsibilities related to imaging reports and images.
- Adhere to department policies, safety, quality, and infection control standards.
- Assist and mentor staff or students during training and clinical rotations.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or certificate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT Certification within 60 days of employment.
- Visual acuity and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts.
