About the role

The CT Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily in computed tomography (CT), to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. They prepare patients and equipment, perform studies independently—including on-call, portable exams, and other site-specific procedures—and perform advanced imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, interventional, mammography, bone density, and cardiac catheterization. The role ensures high-quality, timely imaging services and responds promptly to patient and physician requests. Cross-training in CT is required if registered as an R.T.(R).

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily in CT.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for imaging studies.
  • Conduct studies independently, including on-call and portable exams.
  • Perform advanced imaging modalities (CT, MRI, interventional, mammography, bone density, cardiac catheterization).
  • Ensure proper patient preparation and equipment setup.
  • Provide high-quality, timely imaging services.
  • Cross-train in CT if registered as an R.T.(R).

Requirements

  • Associate degree or trade school equivalency.
  • Certifications such as RTR, CT, MR, M, BD, CI, VI, RCIS, or RCES.
  • Preferred experience of less than two years (not required).
  • Additional certifications like CPR and IV therapy are advantageous.
  • No prior supervisory experience necessary.
