Part-Time Clinical Laboratory Assistant

Role Overview This position supports technical lab staff by collecting, receiving, and processing biological specimens, preparing samples for testing, and performing waived or limited moderate complexity testing as approved. It reports to department leadership and follows established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Process and prepare patient samples, ensuring proper identification and specimen integrity.Perform quality control, troubleshoot basic issues, and document deviations.Assist with inventory management and cost reduction initiatives.Support departmental duties such as phlebotomy, training, and updating procedures.Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, promoting teamwork and professionalism. Qualifications & Skills High School Diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy/CLA certification required.Excellent reading, writing, math skills, and attention to detail.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills.Ability to work with frequent interruptions, multi-task, and follow instructions.Physical ability to stand, lift, and handle materials safely; adherence to safety protocols is essential. Preferred Experience: Previous clinical laboratory experience, knowledge of specimen handling, and medical terminology are advantageous.
