Part Time Childcare Educator - MA - Springfield Public Schools

About the role

Educator Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended day programs focusing on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment. The role involves inspiring a love of learning, supporting schools, and giving families peace of mind through a team of mission-driven individuals.

Responsibilities

• Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
• Lead by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children enjoy themselves while meeting program goals.
• Monitor Environment: Address potential hazards, follow safety protocols, document attendance, incidents, and observations.
• Effective Communication: Communicate with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• Able to lift 25 lbs.
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree; 3 months of experience working with school age children.
• Alternatively: High school diploma or equivalent; 6 months of experience working with school age children including 3 months of supervised experience at a school age child care program.
• Must meet state-specific requirements:
• First Aid and CPR-in-person
• Cleared tuberculosis test
• Proof of MMR

Pay

$16.00-$19.00 per hour (based on education and experience).

Schedule

Monday to Friday 6:30 AM - 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM.
