Part Time Childcare Educator - MA - Chicopee Public Schools

About the role

Educator Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended day programs. The role focuses on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment to support the success of all students. The mission is to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give families peace of mind.

Responsibilities

• Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring alignment with program objectives. Lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Maintain a Safe and Nurturing Environment: Ensure children are enjoying themselves while meeting program goals through positive guidance and effective classroom management. Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow safety protocols.
• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Document attendance, incidents, and other observations. Communicate effectively with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• Able to lift 25 lbs.
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Have a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree; and have 3 months of experience working with school age children.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent; and have 6 months of experience working with school age children including 3 months of supervised experience at a school age child care program.
• Have nine months of experience with school age children including 3 months of supervised experience at a school age child care program.

Pay

$16.00-$19.00 per hour (based on education and experience).

Schedule

Monday to Friday 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM.
