Schedule

  • Mon–Fri: 6:30–9:30 and 3–6 (schedule may vary depending on school)

Pay

  • $16.00–$19.00 per hour
  • $2,000 sign-on/retention bonus available for applicants hired by September 4, 2026

Responsibilities

  • Organize program materials for lessons and activities, as well as document attendance, incidents, and other observations
  • Deliver our dynamic daily curriculum to engage children in academic and social character-building that expands school day learning in a meaningful way
  • Using your coursework training and our in-person training, model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety, well-being, and attention of all children while supporting homework completion, leading fun fitness activities, and guiding children at play
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with varied audiences including children, parents, staff, and school personnel
  • Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety, well-being, and attention of all children
  • Meet regularly with the Program Manager regarding professional progress and team accountability

Qualifications

  • 18 years old or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 240 hours or more working in a licensed childcare facility as an assistant AND one of the following:
    • 2 non-credit department-approved courses in early childhood education
    • 2 credits in early childhood and one noncredit department-approved course in early childhood
    • A certificate from the WI registry as a child care teacher
  • Completed Staff Health Report and clear TB test within 30 days of hire date (Health Report and TB test can be used if completed within past 12 months – clear to start requirement)

Skills

  • Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills
  • Works well in a team environment
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
  • Excellent communication skills with varied audiences including children, parents, staff, and school personnel
  • Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living
  • Respect for and dedication to working with children with special needs
  • A love for children!
