About the Role
This role involves performing carpentry work at marine project sites, including constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel supports, and shelters based on plans or oral instructions. You will collaborate with a team of supervisors, operators, and laborers to ensure project success, emphasizing safety, quality, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Assist in completing marine construction projects as directed.
- Maintain and utilize essential carpentry tools.
- Interpret plans and specifications for building and repairs.
- Handle materials safely, lay out foundations, and erect forms.
- Perform wood and metal framing, inspect structures, and support project logistics.
- Participate in safety initiatives and ensure compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of carpentry experience or equivalent training.
- Knowledge of concrete forming systems, marine equipment, and safe work practices.
- Effective communication and proficiency in carpentry skills.
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme conditions.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and wearing PPE.
- Ability to respond calmly during emergencies.
