Part-Time Board Operator - KIXZ

About the role

Townsquare Media Group is seeking a Part-Time Board Operator to join our dynamic team. This role offers hands-on experience in local media, radio, and digital operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate control boards for in-studio and remote programming
• Regulate program timing, play commercials, and run syndicated content
• Maintain technical quality and accuracy of on-air programming
• Protect the station’s license by following FCC guidelines and censoring prohibited content
• Process time-out programming to ensure accurate playback
• Identify and report technical issues to Engineering
• Handle emergency inserts such as breaking news, alerts, and system tests
• Aid in basic administrative and operational tasks
• Represent the station at on-site promotions, live remotes, and community events
• Set up, operate, and break down audio and promotional equipment
• Record live events through photos, video, audio, and social content

Requirements

• High School Diploma (required)
• College coursework or BA/BS degree (preferred)
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and vehicle (required)

Skills
