Part-Time Barista

About the role
The Counterperson will prepare and serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas, and other specialty beverages. This includes serving baked goods and sandwiches, describing menu items, suggesting products, stocking supplies, and providing room service for guests.
This position could be full or part time, with a shift outlook of 6:30 AM – 2:00 PM and weekend availability required.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the coffee shop according to established policies and procedures.
- Operate espresso machines and other equipment to prepare drinks and pastries per customer requests.
- Anticipate customer and store needs by evaluating the environment and customer cues.
- Reconcile the cash register daily using the sales report.
- Maintain cleanliness and food storage standards in the shop.
- Communicate with the Restaurant Manager regarding equipment maintenance or other concerns.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide friendly, individualized attention to customers and represent the company professionally.
- Experience handling cash and operating a cash register.
- Availability for early morning shifts and weekends.

Pay
Starting wage: $15.00 per hour plus gratuity at the customer’s discretion.
