Part Time Associate Patient Care Coordinator

Responsibilities
- Greet patients, family members and guests with a friendly smile
- Obtain and update patient information accurately and efficiently
- Perform insurance verification on the date of service
- Schedule appointments and procedures in an organized manner
- Answer incoming and outgoing calls promptly and courteously
- Follow Payment Security policy and procedures according to Optum Medical guidelines
- Maintain a work queue list and complete pending actions
- Check In and Check Out Patients
- Document and follow up on referrals and specialist appointments
- Adhere to Optum Employee Policies
- Work cohesively with the care team to achieve team goals
- Comfortable working in a high-paced environment
- Communicate effectively with patient/family team members and other healthcare professionals
- Comply with administrative policies to ensure quality of care
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of computer proficiency experience (multi-tasking through multiple applications)
- 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
- Ability to travel to other offices if needed
- Ability to work a 24-hour flexible schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with an electronic health record
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- 1+ years of experience working in medical office positions

- Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Pay and Schedule
The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
