Part Time After School Youth Educator -Alamo Heights
Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended-day programs focused on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment to support the success of all students. About the role
Part-time after-school youth staff (Educators) will work at Alamo Heights School locations. The position starts immediately.
Pay
$14.00–$17.00 per hour, based on years of experience in group childcare settings and related education (though not required).
Schedule
Monday through Friday; no weekends. Must be available on all school days, including some school closure days.
Responsibilities
- Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and ensure team accountability.
- Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare and lead structured activities and curriculum aligned with program objectives, including fitness, educational, and enjoyable activities for all ages.
- Lead by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
- Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols, including documenting attendance, incidents, and observations.
- Communication: Effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
Requirements
- Ability to meet state-specific requirements.
- At least six months of work in a licensed group childcare center or school.
- First Aid and CPR certification (in-person; ability to obtain within 30 days of employment if not already certified).
- 18+ years of age.
- Proof of High School diploma/GED.
- Cleared tuberculosis test.
- Proof of MMR vaccination.
Qualifications
- Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Works well in a team environment.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
- Ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
- Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
- Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.
- Excellent communication skills with varied audiences, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
