Part Time After School Youth Educator -Alamo Heights
About the role
Right At School provides local school districts before and after school extended day programs with a focus on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students. Our mission emphasizes a commitment to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give families peace of mind.
We are seeking a Part-Time After-School Youth Staff, which we call our Educators, to work at our Alamo Heights School locations, starting immediately. The pay rate is $14.00-$17.00 per hour, based on experience in a group childcare setting and education in a related field.
The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekends, and the ability to work on days when school is closed is required.
Responsibilities
You will drive the mission by attending daily program meetings to review goals and updates, share ideas, and discuss professional progress. You will also organize and facilitate daily activities, preparing curriculum and leading structured daily fitness and educational activities that are enjoyable for all ages.
Additionally, you will maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while meeting program goals, and prioritize safety and joy by monitoring the environment and following all safety protocols.
Effective communication with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel, is also required.
Requirements
- Ability to meet state-specific requirements
- At least six months of work experience in a licensed group childcare center or school
- First Aid and CPR certification (in-person, if required, with the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
- 18+ years of age
- Proof of High School diploma/GED required
Qualifications
- Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
- Works well in a team environment
- At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age
- Ability to lift 25lbs
- Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living
- Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed
