Parnassus Academic Operations Analyst
About the role
The Parnassus Academic Operations Analyst provides direct high-level administrative and project support at the Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) Parnassus site. This position independently prioritizes issues in a fast-paced environment, manages the Parnassus Chief and Executive Medical Director’s complex and demanding schedules, screens and triages highly confidential communications and plans and implements events for the Parnassus site.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and manages the flow and exchange of information
- Streamslines interactions with key executives
- Facilitates initiatives on behalf of the Chief and/or Executive Medical Director
- Functions as the gatekeeper, understanding the requirements and support needs of the Chief, leadership and management, in order to prioritize issues according to urgency
- Manages the entire problem-solving process: gather and sort information, identify potential solutions, and present the finished product in the form of a written recommendation or completed project
- Interacts with many diverse personalities and demonstrates good judgment
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management
- Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills
- Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines
- Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees
- Experience in scheduling, meeting coordination, administrative and office support, problem-solving and analytical support
- Strong and exceptional service orientation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and at least 3 years of equivalent experience and/or equivalent experience / training
- Thorough knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees
- Experience in scheduling, meeting coordination, administrative and office support, problem-solving and analytical support
- Strong and exceptional service orientation
