About the role
The DNR Division of Parks and Trails seeks multiple Parks and Trails Associates to support park and trail operations across the Southern region of Minnesota. Duties vary by location but typically include managing customer service tasks, performing security duties, and assisting with administrative functions.
Responsibilities
- Register campers and sell merchandise
- Provide information to the public
- Clean buildings, grounds, and facilities
- Sell park vehicle permits, merchandise items and consumables
- Collect fees and ensure accurate accounting
- Communicate with park personnel and report on visitor activities
- Perform security duties as needed
Requirements
- Ability to manage work tasks independently with limited supervision
- Teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues
- Problem-solving skills to handle uncertain situations
- Customer service skills to interact with diverse users
- Math skills to make change and calculate balances
Qualifications
- Unrestricted Class D Driver’s license with a clear driving record
- Ability to meet physical requirements and work in various environmental conditions
Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of retail sales and customer service
- Ability to operate point of sale systems
- First Aid and CPR training or certification
