PARKS & RECREATION- Laborer I

Major Duties

• Perform manual labor tasks, including but not limited to landscaping, grounds maintenance, and facility upkeep.
• Aid in the installation and repair of park amenities, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Operate and maintain various hand tools and power equipment as required for assigned tasks.
• Participate in the preparation and cleanup of special events and programs hosted within parks.
• Perform routine inspections of park areas to identify and report maintenance needs.
• Support a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members and follow instructions from supervisory staff.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste and debris in compliance with departmental policies.
• Respond to emergency situations, such as storm damage or hazardous conditions, as directed.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience in manual labor or related field is preferred.
• A valid Texas Driver’s license at the time of placement is required.
• Flexibility to work weekends or evenings for special events or projects is necessary.
