Parks & Recreation Fall Seasonal Maintenance Worker

Part-time/seasonal position with the Parks & Recreation department.

Responsibilities

• Mowing grass and weed trimming
• Painting and repairing public buildings
• Leaf cleanup and general Fall property maintenance
• Other various park maintenance tasks, including garbage
• Operating light equipment such as push mowers, leaf blowers, trimmers, and pickup trucks

Requirements

• Graduate or current student of an accredited high school or equivalent
• At least 17 years old (minors under 18 require a work permit prior to starting work)
• Valid State of Michigan driver’s license and good driving record
• Reasonable knowledge of operating light equipment like mowers, trimmers, and blowers

Pay

$13.00 – $17.00 per hour (starting wage may vary depending on experience).

Schedule

Part-time/seasonal.

Benefits

• 1 hour of Earned Sick Time accrued for every 30 hours worked, per State statute
