Parks and Recreation Aide 5 (Assistant Cook)

Description Duties Description The incumbent of this position will assist the Cook and perform general cleaning duties which include but are not limited to: Prepare meals for groups following approved recipes and menus prepared by the Cook. Serve food to groups. Clean up following preparation, including all cooking utensils dishware, flatware, surfaces and equipment. Storage and rotation of food order stock, and any other duty as assigned by the Cook. Perform general cleaning duties to include wiping down surfaces, dusting, mopping, waxing floors, shampooing carpeting, laundry, vacuuming as needed and other duties as assigned. No Minimum Qualifications Per Civil Service. Minimum Qualifications See Additional Comments for operating needs. Additional Comments Additional Comments This position is located at the Park Police Academy within the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. The candidate will be required to provide information for a background check. Operational Needs Requires familiarity and experience using commercial cooking and food preparation equipment such as slicers, convection ovens, large mixers, dishwashers, deep fryers, etc. Requires knowledge of and adherence to general provisions of the health codes.
