Parking Enforcement Supervisor
Budgeted hiring range: from posted minimum to $77,284 annually, with placement based on skills, knowledge, and experience.
About the role
UCLA provides approximately 22,000 parking spaces to accommodate a community of 80,000 staff, faculty, students, patients, and visitors. Within UCLA Commuter & Parking Services (C&PS), this role ensures appropriate customer service standards and behaviors are maintained, fostering a culture of service excellence. You will support operational units, coordinate campus events, and oversee maintenance-related activities for parking enforcement. Directly supervise parking enforcement employees and those supporting parking enforcement and traffic direction operations. Address customer concerns or complaints regarding parking operations respectfully, professionally, and in a timely manner using departmental standards, policies, and guidelines. Develop, implement, and monitor staff performance, operational scheduling (including overtime for campus events), and staff deployment plans to ensure coverage. Collaborate with campus partners on event support operations, participate in training programs, and maintain quality improvement initiatives. Respond to parking-related emergencies during and after regular business hours.
Responsibilities
- Analyze staffing needs to cover a 24-hour operation, accounting for daily priority changes.
- Work any shift throughout a 24-hour period as required by management.
- Establish priorities and accomplish departmental goals independently.
- Manage conflicting demands, changing priorities, and heavy workloads effectively.
- Communicate clearly over a 2-way radio, using appropriate language.
- Operate PCs, electronic devices, and software; learn, configure, and teach new applications.
- Handle confidential matters with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
- Recruit, train, interview, evaluate performance, and implement disciplinary actions as needed.
- Direct and supervise groups, delegate work, and motivate subordinates to provide excellent service.
- Maintain professional relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public using strong oral and written communication skills.

Requirements
- Valid California Driver’s License and ability to operate a vehicle.
- Must possess and maintain a valid CA noncommercial Class C License.
- Continued employment contingent upon satisfactory background investigation and driving record (subject to California DMV "Pull Notice System").
Qualifications
- Knowledge of California Vehicle Codes, including disabled placard abuse codes (preferred).
- Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends.
