Park Ranger - Public Safety

About the role

The Seasonal Park Ranger is a key member of the Public Safety Department, ensuring the safety and security of guests and Model Citizens at LEGOLAND New York Resort.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of park safety and security
• Reporting incidents to Public Safety Management
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment
• Aiding in investigations and completing accurate written reports
• Recording observations, incidents, and participating in surveillance activities
• Interviewing witnesses and obtaining photographs as needed
• Monitoring access control points and conducting security screenings
• Dispatching and responding to radio calls
• Securing facilities, equipment, and resort assets
• Executing opening, operating, and closing procedures as directed
• Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid New York State Security Guard License
• Prior experience in security, retail, loss prevention, or first responder roles preferred
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused with strong communication skills
• Calm under pressure with excellent situational awareness and sound judgment
• Dependable, responsible, and a strong team player
• Well-groomed appearance and professional demeanor
• Physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods and long distances
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain
