Park Maintenance Crew Leader

Responsibilities

• Oversight of staff for event setup
• Amusement ride maintenance
• Playground inspections
• Aquatic filtration system upkeep
• Ensuring park facilities are safe and clean
• Daily duties involving task assignment, progress monitoring, guidance provision, and issue resolution

Qualifications

• Knowledge of rules and regulations governing recreation and parks facilities
• In-depth understanding of park maintenance practices and equipment
• Knowledge of workplace hazards and accepted safety practices
• Ability to organize, assign, and oversee employee work
• Sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Effective communication and working relationships

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Significant experience in construction, park maintenance, or facility maintenance and repair
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Special Requirements

• Certified Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or ability to obtain within 6 months
• NC Pesticide License or ability to obtain within 6 months

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Strenuous work involving physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
• Visual acuity to operate machinery like drill presses, power saws, and small equipment
• Subject to hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, oils, noise, extreme weather conditions, and vibration
