About the role
Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is hiring a full-time F2G Parent Specialist to provide support to parents and their families. The position involves immediate engagement, setting and supporting parent/child contact, assessing physical and behavioral health needs, and engaging parents in GenerationPMTO groups.
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate engagement with parents to listen to their stories, answer questions, and support reunification efforts.
- Develop and implement individualized whole family treatment plans with the FT team, child and family.
- Recruit, organize, and lead Generation PMTO groups, ensuring active participation and skill incorporation.
- Set up, coach, and supervise ongoing contact and visits between parents and their children, including virtual and in-person activities.
- Organize and lead ongoing support groups, complete and submit required reports, and track client progress.
- Demonstrate professional behavior, treat clients and families respectfully, and communicate effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
- Master’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
- Criminal background check and CANTS clearance required.
- Certification in Generation PMTO or IM+CANs required.
- Demonstrated ability to engage parents and organize/virtual/in-person groups.
- Strong assessment and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage required.
Qualifications
