Scope
To assist certified personnel in achieving instructional goals through participation in curricular activities and supervision of students.
Qualifications
Paraprofessional I (Grade 18):
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited educational institution with at least 30 semester hours in general education core curriculum and/or child development and education, or successful completion of the ParaPro test with a score of 457 or higher.
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting.
- Bilingual; required to be fluent in English and fluent in the language of the students for the allocated position.
- Must be approved by District ESOL Coordinator.
Paraprofessional II (Grade 19):
- Associate's degree or higher from an accredited educational institution required.
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting.
- Bilingual; required to be fluent in English and fluent in the language of the students for the allocated position.
- Must be approved by District ESOL Coordinator.
Certifications/Licenses
- Valid State Driver's License.
Pay & Schedule
- Grade 18: $16.68 per hour (High School Diploma and ParaPro min score 457 or 60 hrs college credit in core curriculum)
- Grade 19: $17.06 per hour (AA / AS or higher)
- Contract: 9 months
- Hours per day: 6.500
