Job Summary
The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation seeks a compassionate, dependable, and student-centered Part-Time Paraprofessional to support students at Our Lady Catholic Church. This role works under the direction of classroom teachers, administration, and support staff to provide instructional, behavioral, and academic support in a faith-filled environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to assigned student(s) or small groups as directed by teachers or support staff
- Auxiliary in implementing instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications
- Reinforce academic skills and classroom expectations in a positive manner
- Support students with organization, focus, task completion, and transitions
- Aid in classroom instruction, guided practice, and intervention activities
- Support implementation of behavior plans, routines, and expectations
- Encourage independence while providing appropriate guidance and redirection
- Foster respectful, positive relationships with students while maintaining consistency
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administration to support student needs
- Communicate observations regarding student progress and challenges
- Maintain confidentiality of student and school information
- Support the Catholic mission by modeling Christian values and participating in prayer and school faith activities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment
- Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and teamwork
Job Requirements
- High school diploma required; associate’s degree, certification, or related coursework preferred
- Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or related settings preferred
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning or behavioral needs preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow direction from teachers and staff
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive, professional attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and actively engage with students throughout the day
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist students as needed
