Paraprofessional

About the Role

Support students in achieving their educational, social, and emotional goals by providing direct assistance and instruction throughout the school day. Paraprofessionals collaborate with teachers to implement classroom and school-wide positive behavior strategies, support student-specific plans, and promote on-task behavior. They assist with daily activities, transitions, and data collection related to student progress.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with students and staff
• Assist in implementing behavioral and academic plans
• Support student independence and daily living activities
• Collect and record data on student progress
• Adhere to health, safety, and confidentiality standards

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, with applicable pre-service training or college credits
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, support technology use, and communicate effectively
• Physical ability to lift, carry, stand, and respond to emergencies
• Background checks and certifications (first aid, CPR, registration)
• Ongoing training and compliance with health regulations
• Ability to work in diverse environments, including exposure to potential hazards and infectious materials
• Flexibility to adapt to changing responsibilities
