About the role

Serves the educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical, and daily living needs of elementary students with disabilities in various settings.

Responsibilities

  • Supports academic, health, daily living, and behavioral needs as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Maintains classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the direction of the supervising teacher.
  • Performs daily living tasks such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene.
  • Administers medically invasive procedures following universal precautions and as directed.
  • Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Collects data on students' Individual Education Program (IEP) goals under the supervision of a special education teacher.
  • Communicates with students and parents regarding routine educational issues.

Requirements

  • Must pass District-approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training annually.
  • Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license or be able to obtain one within the required timeframe for new residents and meet District’s insurability requirements.
  • Specialized training in invasive procedures, such as tube feeding and catheterization, will be provided as needed.

Pay

New hires will be set at $22.824 per hour. The salary range for internal candidates is $22.824 to $27.275 per hour. For the 2026–2027 school year, salaries are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1. Updates or adjustments to the salary schedule are communicated to impacted individuals.
