About the role
Serves the educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical, and daily living needs of elementary students with disabilities in various settings.
Responsibilities
- Supports academic, health, daily living, and behavioral needs of students as outlined in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Maintains classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the guidance of the supervising teacher.
- Performs daily living tasks such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene.
- Administers medically invasive procedures like tube feeding, catheterization, and suctioning, following universal precautions.
- Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Applies accommodations and modifications as specified in students' Individual Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collects data on students' Individual Education Program (IEP) goals under the supervision of a special education teacher.
- Communicates with students and parents regarding routine educational matters.
Requirements
- Must pass District-approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training annually.
- Must complete specialized training in invasive procedures, such as tube feeding and catheterization, as required by the assignment.
- Must have a valid Colorado driver's license or be able to obtain one within the state's required timeframe for new residents and meet the District's insurability requirements if transporting students or using personal/company vehicles.

Pay
New hires will be set at $22.824 per hour. The salary range for internal candidates is $22.824 to $27.275 per hour.
