PARAPROFESSIONAL, 1:1 ELEMENTARY SPECIAL EDUCATION, 3RD GRADE
About the role
Serves the educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical, and daily living needs of elementary students with disabilities in various settings.
Responsibilities
- Supports academic, health, daily living, and behavioral needs as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Maintains classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the guidance of the supervising teacher.
- Performs daily living tasks such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and hygiene.
- Administers medically invasive procedures following universal precautions and under supervision.
- Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Applies student accommodations and modifications as specified in their IEPs.
- Collects data on students' IEP goals under the supervision of a special education teacher.
- Communicates with students and parents regarding educational matters.
Requirements
- Must pass District-approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training annually.
- Must have a valid Colorado driver's license or be able to obtain one within the required timeframe.

Pay
New hires will be set at $22.824 per hour. The salary range for internal candidates is $22.824 to $27.275 per hour. For detailed compensation information, view the Para Salary Schedule. The salary listed reflects the 2025–2026 school year. Salaries for the 2026–2027 school year are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1. If any updates or adjustments are made once the new salary schedule is finalized, all impacted individuals will receive the updated salary.
