PARAMEDIC, @ the Spanish Springs FED, Part Time

Responsibilities

The ER at Spanish Springs is open 24/7 and serves all ages from pediatrics to seniors. It features nine treatment rooms, including fast-track exam rooms, and advanced imaging services like CT and X-ray. The facility also offers lab draws. The FED (Focused Emergency Department) model aims to reduce wait times for non-urgent cases, while still providing care for life-threatening emergencies. Patients requiring more intensive care are transferred to nearby hospitals. The ER is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians, ER-trained nurses, and technicians.

Qualifications

• Current Nevada EMT-P Certification
• Current BLS
• Advanced cardiac rhythm competency within 6 months of hire
• Completion of Healthstream course AACN: Essentials of ECG & Dysrhythmia Monitoring within 6 months of hire

About the Role

This Paramedic position is part-time and offers full benefits and a flexible schedule. Responsibilities include completing bedside shift reports, ensuring patient communication boards, providing supportive care, performing approved procedures, and addressing psychosocial, spiritual, and emotional needs. Additional duties may include tasks like crutch walking, dressing changes, wound cleaning, and assisting with splints or casts.
