Paramedic ED PRN
About the role
The ER Advanced Paramedic will collect and convey information to both their team members and the attending Physician regarding the health status of patients. The Hospital Advanced Paramedic will perform all duties identified in their job description and validated by competency assessment under the License of the Physician Medical Director. They will report to the Director of Emergency Services. They will serve as a member of the Healthcare team through active communication; documentation; feedback and assistance as needed or requested. The Hospital Advanced Paramedic will provide for patient safety.
Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Paramedic Certificate Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- 2 years' experience Required

Skills
The ER Advanced Paramedic will participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives. They will maintain competence in documentation. They will answer and receive patient report from EMS on radio (not allowed to give or take orders over radio). They will receive EMS hand off reports at facility. They will utilize SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) for communication. They will support and represent the facility’s Core Values while performing the role. They will attend meetings and in-services as required by departmental policy. They will clean stretchers, closets, and cabinets as appropriate.
