Paramedic PRN

Job Summary

As a Paramedic at Timpanogos Regional Hospital, you will be joining a team of detail-oriented, knowledgeable people who are passionate about what they do and who support one another. You will be maintaining clear communication with the attending physician and licensed nurse assigned to patient about all patient care issues, assisting with patient examinations or treatments, observing and reporting patients’ signs or symptoms, taking vital signs and measuring and recording patient input and output, attaching oxygen and cardiac monitors, monitoring patient cardiac rhythm, performing 12 lead EKG, documenting EKG strips, suctioning patient airways as directed, and reporting findings to physician and care team assigned to patient. You will also receive patients from EMS personnel and prepare patients for the physician’s care, collecting routine laboratory specimens as directed by the physician and performing basic laboratory procedures, assisting emergency department physicians with patient examinations and treatments including central line insertions, lumbar punctures, defibrillation, cardioversion, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, arterial lines, suturing, needle chest decompressions, endotracheal and nasotracheal intubation, insertion of intraosseous lines, endotracheal suctioning, inserting Foley catheters, and securing airways through insertion of oral/nasal airway devices, performing CPR, defibrillation, cardioversion, and transcutaneous pacing during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

Pay

The pay for this role is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
