About the role
The Paramedic at Parkview EMS is responsible for delivering quality pre-hospital care to patients of all ages using proper techniques and adhering to the standards of care set by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security - EMS Division and the Parkview Health EMS Medical Director(s).
Responsibilities
- Deliver quality pre-hospital care to patients of all ages using proper techniques and adhering to the standards of care set by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security - EMS Division and the Parkview Health EMS Medical Director(s).
- Maintain and update patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare providers.
- Assist in emergency medical situations, including but not limited to trauma, cardiac arrest, and respiratory distress.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and equipment maintenance.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Additional post-high school education desirable.
- Certification: Meets Indiana State Paramedic guidelines and holds a valid state Paramedic certification/license.
- CPR required.
- Valid driver's license.
- ACLS required.
- One year experience preferred.
- Meets insurability requirements under Parkview Health vehicle and liability insurance policies, without a "driver exclusion", and/or other insurance modifications and/or high risk classification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to lift 100 pounds and assist with 300 pounds.
