About the role

The Paramedic at Parkview EMS is responsible for delivering quality pre-hospital care to patients of all ages using proper techniques and adhering to the standards of care set by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security - EMS Division and the Parkview Health EMS Medical Director(s).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality pre-hospital care to patients of all ages using proper techniques and adhering to the standards of care set by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security - EMS Division and the Parkview Health EMS Medical Director(s).
  • Maintain and update patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare providers.
  • Assist in emergency medical situations, including but not limited to trauma, cardiac arrest, and respiratory distress.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and equipment maintenance.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Additional post-high school education desirable.
  • Certification: Meets Indiana State Paramedic guidelines and holds a valid state Paramedic certification/license.
  • CPR required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • ACLS required.
  • One year experience preferred.
  • Meets insurability requirements under Parkview Health vehicle and liability insurance policies, without a "driver exclusion", and/or other insurance modifications and/or high risk classification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to lift 100 pounds and assist with 300 pounds.
