Paralegal - Loan Documentation - Austin
About the Role
We have an immediate opening in our Austin office for a paralegal with 2+ years of commercial loan document experience. This is a full-time position with standard hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing, organizing, and preparing loan documents
- Drafting initial versions of promissory notes, security agreements, deeds of trust, and UCC financing statements
- Reviewing Texas property title commitments, land surveys, and UCC searches to clear exceptions
- Searching and verifying business entity statuses, good standing certificates, and resolutions with the Texas Secretary of State
- Managing closing checklists and communicating with title companies and lenders
- Scheduling and calendaring
- Entering attorneys’ time
- Assisting with the monthly billing cycle
- Opening new cases in the firm’s internal system
- Scanning and saving documents electronically; physical and digital filing; organizing and maintaining documents
- Client communication and case updates
- Making travel arrangements; submitting expense reimbursements
- Maintaining confidentiality for all cases
- E-filing
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant experience required
- Fast learner, especially with cloud-based systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work/projects
- Excels at taking and following directions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable with strong work ethic and professional demeanor
- Business casual attire required
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Legal staff members are required to work in the office during standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Occasional work from home before or after business hours and/or on weekends may be required to successfully complete tasks.
