Position Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary and/or lead paralegal on business litigation matters.
- Aid in fact investigation and evidence development, including document collection, review, analysis, and production.
- Create and prepare case summaries, reports, and court or agency filings.
- Organize and manage deposition, motion, hearing, and trial materials, including exhibits and supporting documents.
- Collaborate with attorneys, clients, witnesses, vendors, agencies, and courts for logistics of depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Attend meetings, hearings, trials, and other proceedings with attorneys, as needed, and utilize trial presentation software.
- Conduct factual and legal research, including client and witness interviews.
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other case-related documents.
- Track deadlines, maintain case calendars, and ensure timely compliance with court rules and applicable regulations.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide case updates while maintaining confidentiality.
- Create, maintain, and search case databases; manage document organization, chronologies, and production logs.
- Assist with trial preparation and post-case file management, including records retention and file closure.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate plus three to five years’ litigation experience required.
- Experience as a financial services paralegal is strongly preferred.
- Experience with litigation software solutions, including e-discovery platforms and exhibit and trial organization and presentation software.
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, agency and court rules and procedures, practices, etc.
- Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products is a must.
