About the role
Christie’s Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Paralegal to join its team in New York City. The Paralegal will report to the Senior Litigation Counsel for the Americas and work closely with legal and business teams to support a variety of complex art-related matters, including subpoena compliance, commercial and contract disputes, title/ownership issues, and repatriation requests. This role offers meaningful exposure to dispute resolution, litigation, and third-party subpoena compliance.
Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain all dispute-matter filings and tracking documents to ensure timely compliance with deadlines.
- Lead investigations relating to subpoena compliance, collect and review documents, and manage productions of responsive documents to third parties under attorney direction and oversight.
- Join calls with third parties, take detailed minutes, and note all relevant deliverables.
- Process and track outside counsel legal invoices and manage Christie’s e-billing systems, primarily using Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker.
- Generate budget reports and analyze matter spend against the forecasted annual budget.
- Conduct research using PACER, LexisNexis, and search engines.
- Assist with drafting agreements using templates under attorney direction and oversight.
- Become the NY Legal team’s lead resource on searching and producing reports from Christie’s internal systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience with a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Copilot, Outlook), Adobe, and Wordsmith.
- Experience reviewing documents on platforms such as Concordance, Consilio, Relativity, or Everlaw.
- Interest in the art market and enthusiasm for learning about auction processes and litigation.

Pay
Salary: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 (excluding discretionary bonus and overtime pay).
