Paralegal (Labor and Employment)

Our West Palm Beach office is seeking a highly motivated Labor and Employment Paralegal who is technologically savvy to join our Labor & Employment Practice Group. The successful candidate will support a heavy volume of employment litigation and counseling practice in a fast-paced team environment, while applying AI and legal technology tools to improve efficiency and accuracy. This is a hybrid position with required in office support when needed. Responsibilities Support attorneys through employment litigation and counseling matters, including agency charges, investigations, and hearingsManage case management and hearing/trial preparation, including analyzing legal documents, witness background research, and discovery materialsDraft pleadings, discovery, position statements, and correspondenceConduct legal research using Westlaw and LexisManage discovery and e-discovery workflows, including document review and productionAssist with EEOC, FCHR, and DOL charge responses and administrative proceedingsUse AI and legal technology tools to improve research, document review, and workflow efficiencyMaintain case files, calendars, and deadlinesPrepare deposition summaries, exhibits, and hearing materialsDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with clientsTrack billable time per firm policyPartner with leadership on process improvement initiatives Qualifications 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm environment – labor and employment experience preferred but not requiredStrong knowledge of Florida and federal employment law procedures and agency practice (EEOC, FCHR, DOL)AI experience preferred but not requiredExperience with iManage and RelativityStrong Microsoft Office proficiency, including ExcelMeticulous attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work productExcellent organizational, analytical, and communication skillsProactive, detail-oriented, solution-focusedProfessionalism, discretion, and sound judgment Why Akerman We value innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, and seek professionals excited about the opportunities AI and emerging technologies bring to the practice of law.
