Paralegal - Immigration
About the role
Harris Beach Murtha is seeking an Immigration Paralegal to assist in the preparation of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications for corporate and individual clients. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of Business Immigration paralegal experience, a Bachelor’s Degree in a field emphasizing writing or communication, and superior writing/editing skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide variety of business-based nonimmigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN, E, and O-1) and immigrant (employment and family-based) petitions, including forms preparation and supporting documentation.
- Manage high-volume corporate client accounts and work closely with clients to provide comprehensive immigration services.
- Compile and maintain records of immigration filings, other documentation, and records of activity on behalf of clients.
- Review immigration regulations and apply them to various case scenarios.
- Perform research using all available immigration research tools including government agencies' websites.
- Write detailed and complex supporting argumentation.
- Enter case information into case management system.
Requirements
The Immigration Paralegal must have:
- 3+ years of Business Immigration paralegal experience.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a field emphasizing writing or communication.
- Experience in business and family-based immigration (preferred).
- Superior writing/editing skills for complex support letters.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with MS Office and expertise with computer assisted legal resources.
- The ability to manage multiple high-volume priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The firm offers competitive salaries and benefits, with salary ranges varying based on relevant experience, geographic location, and scheduled weekly hours.
Pay
- Albany, NY: $31.25 - $40.87/hour
- New York City, NY: $36.06 - $45.67/hour
Schedule
- Albany and New York City, NY: 40 hours/week
- Boston, Massachusetts: 35 hours/week
