Immigration Paralegal

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support employment-based immigration matters, including PERM labor certification, H-1B, L-1, TN, E-2, O-1, and other employment-based visa matters.
  • Prepare, organize, and file PERM applications, prevailing wage requests, recruitment documentation, and related filings under attorney supervision.
  • Assist with preparation and filing of I-140 immigrant petitions, adjustment of status applications, and related USCIS filings.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for PERM recruitment, including job postings, advertisements, recruitment reports, and supporting records.
  • Monitor case status, filing receipts, Requests for Evidence (RFEs), notices, deadlines, and other immigration-related updates.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized electronic and physical case files for all assigned matters.
  • Gather, review, and organize supporting documentation from employers and foreign national employees.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, employees, and other stakeholders to obtain required information and documentation and provide case-status updates as directed by the attorney.
  • Assist attorneys with preparing petitions, applications, forms, supporting letters, exhibits, and other immigration filings.
  • Review filings and supporting documents for completeness, consistency, accuracy, and compliance with applicable USCIS and Department of Labor requirements.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, clients, HR representatives, employees, and other members of the legal team to ensure timely completion of immigration matters.
  • Track multiple cases, deadlines, and filing requirements while ensuring timely submission of assigned work.
  • Monitor changes in immigration procedures, filing requirements, and government processing updates that may affect assigned cases.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee, employer, and immigration information.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of direct experience supporting employment-based immigration attorneys.
  • Strong hands-on experience with PERM labor certification processes and employment-based immigration matters.
  • Experience preparing and supporting PERM, I-140, adjustment of status, H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, or other employment-based immigration filings.
  • Familiarity with Department of Labor (DOL) and USCIS procedures and filing requirements.
  • Strong understanding of PERM recruitment, prevailing wage requirements, and related documentation.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively supporting attorneys and communicating with clients.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive immigration and employment information professionally.
