Paralegal II

About the Role

As a paralegal in the in-house legal department, you will provide vital support to attorneys focusing on transactional matters, including corporate operations, real estate, and contracts. While the position is transactional-focused, you will also assist with other legal department matters, including litigation. This role is key to meeting deadlines, managing multiple projects, and maintaining operational efficiency to help the legal department meet its strategic goals.

The ideal candidate is a high-energy multitasker who can pivot between corporate matters (including board-related work), contracts, and litigation deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Legal Officer with all matters, including those related to the board of directors and governmental affairs.
• Assist attorneys in the preparation, review, closing, and execution of corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, financing, confidentiality agreements, leases, real estate transactions, and general contracts.
• Conduct thorough due diligence reviews and organize virtual data rooms for corporate projects.
• Work with attorneys on litigation matters, including basic investigation, document compilation and organization, and docketing deadlines.
• Work independently on specialized projects while collaborating with the in-house team on large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant paralegal experience; a paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
• High level of comfort with Microsoft Office Suite, AI-based platforms (Gemini and NotebookLM), and legal tech (document management systems and e-signature platforms).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a focus on professional diplomacy.
• Proven ability to prioritize a diverse workload involving multiple stakeholders and legal deadlines; experience with process improvement is beneficial.
• Demonstrated ability to uphold the strictest standards of confidentiality and professional ethics.

Schedule

Full-time. After an initial interim period of 5 days in the office, the position may transition to 1 day of work from home, with potential for hybrid (3 days/week in office after the first year). Note that collaboration needs may require full-time in-office presence.
