Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Paralegal to play a critical role within our Legal Department. This position will lead company’s Service of Process function, including intake and management of subpoenas and threatened or filed matters. The role will also be responsible for daily management of company’s service of process paralegal team and provide support to in-house counsel in managing responses to subpoenas and other legal correspondence. The role will report to the Associate General Counsel.
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience;
- 2 - 4+ years of experience as a paralegal, in either a law firm or in-house legal department.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a paralegal in a law firm is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with litigation tracking and case management platforms (e.g., Legal Tracker, CounselLink, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of the subpoena and litigation and arbitration processes
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting multiple, and often short, deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working cross-functionally with attorneys, cross-functional partners, and external service providers.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and operate with minimal supervision.
Experience Preferred
- Paralegal certification is a plus.
- Experience in fintech, financial services, or a regulated environment is a plus.
- Experience working for a financial services company and/or in-house legal department.
- Proficiency with Legal Tracker, LexisNexis, and Relativity/other e-discovery platforms.
- Experience e-filing via PACER and state court online filing systems.

Daily Responsibilities
- Oversee and perform intake new service of process requests and log them in company’s systems of record
- Prepare responses and objections to subpoenas and legal correspondence and oversee other paralegals responsible for providing these responses
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date litigation-related data in company’s systems of record
- Facilitate the gathering of internal discovery; shepherd and complete litigation research requests; conduct internal investigations in response to complaint allegations; answer questions from outside and in-house counsel with regards to allegations made against company
- Assist in the generation of service of process-related reports and help update and maintain company’s policies, procedures, and training materials on responding to service of process requests
- Support continuous improvement of efficient workflows, tracking tools, and reporting processes
