About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Business Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting attorneys in complex commercial litigation matters and will play a critical role in case management, discovery, and trial preparation. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including case intake, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Draft, proofread, and format legal documents such as pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence
- Manage case files and maintain organized electronic and physical records
- Coordinate and manage document production, including e-discovery platforms and databases
- Conduct factual and legal research under attorney supervision
- Prepare deposition summaries, chronologies, and trial binders
- File documents with state and federal courts, including e-filing
- Track deadlines and manage litigation calendars
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel professionally and effectively
- Support attorneys during hearings, depositions, and trials as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 years of paralegal experience in business litigation in a law firm environment
- One of the following is strongly preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Paralegal certificate or Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies
- Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) designation
- Experience with complex case management and high-volume document review
- Familiarity with trial preparation and courtroom procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and litigation support software
- Strong understanding of court rules and procedures
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Availability to work additional hours during time-sensitive phases of litigation
