Boston-based financial services firm is seeking a Paralegal to support the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel in a newly created role.

About the role

This individual will take ownership of document management, legal filing, administrative support, and the development and documentation of internal processes and workflows. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role within a financial services firm or law firm and will bring a proactive approach, including the ability to recommend best practices and introduce processes that have worked effectively in previous environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day paralegal and administrative support to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel.
  • Manage legal documents, records, agreements, and related filing systems, ensuring materials are organized, accurate, and easily accessible.
  • Develop, document, and maintain process flows and procedures for recurring legal and administrative activities.
  • Review existing workflows and recommend best practices for document management, recordkeeping, and legal team operations.
  • Assist with the preparation, organization, execution, and maintenance of contracts and other legal documents.
  • Maintain electronic files and document repositories and establish consistent filing and recordkeeping practices.
  • Track agreements, deadlines, deliverables, approvals, and other legal matters as needed.
  • Coordinate signatures, document execution, and distribution of completed agreements.
  • Assist with legal research, document review, and preparation of materials as needed.
  • Partner with internal teams to gather information and documentation required by the legal department.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve the overall efficiency and organization of the legal function.
  • Take ownership of administrative and operational responsibilities to allow senior members of the legal team to focus on higher-level legal matters.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Support additional legal department projects and initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate or related legal training is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a similar legal support role within a financial services firm or law firm is required.
  • Strong document management, filing, and recordkeeping experience.
  • Experience developing, documenting, and improving processes and workflows.
  • Ability to bring forward recommendations and best practices based on previous experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and resourceful with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with document management, contract management, or other legal systems preferred.

Pay

$80,000–$120,000+
