Johnson & Bell is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support our litigation practice. The role involves supporting attorneys in all phases of litigation in state and federal court. Starting salary depends on the amount and nature of prior experience. Responsibilities

• creating documents, including pleadings, discovery, letters, and summaries
• submitting court filings
• scheduling depositions, motions, hearings, and meetings
• maintaining electronic files
• calendaring and docketing
• file openings and closings
• supporting attorneys in all phases of investigation and litigation

Skills

• Proficiency in typing, computer use, and document creation, including use of Word and creation of letters, pleadings, written discovery, and summaries
• Experience with document management systems, calendaring, and use of Outlook
• Experience with court filing and procedures in Indiana state courts and Federal Court
• Experience in drafting written discovery, serving discovery and responses
• Strong attention to detail, with exceptional organizational skills
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Pay

$45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
