Paralegal

About the role

Hawkins Parnell & Young LLP is seeking a paralegal with 3-5 years of experience to support their practice areas which include, but are not limited to, insurance defense, toxic tort, premise liability, product liability and transportation.

Responsibilities

• Managing cases including maintaining document control, calendaring docket deadlines and coordinating and monitoring local counsel
• Preparing and organizing documents such as forms, charts, letters, etc.
• Reviewing and summarizing depositions and records
• Facilitating expert retention, providing materials to experts, and coordinating deadlines for expert reports and depositions
• Aiding with trials including organizing trial documents and exhibits
• Preparing for depositions
• Preparing for hearings
• Reviewing and producing documents
• Drafting discovery documents and form pleadings/motions
• Requesting and organizing records
• Maintaining client records
• Aiding with e-filing

Requirements

• 3-5 years of paralegal experience in similar practice areas
• Strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated initiative and self-direction
• Proficiency in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in legal research, document management, and case preparation. Experience in insurance defense, toxic tort, premise liability, product liability, and transportation law is preferred.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
