Paralegal

About the Role

Hawkins Parnell & Young LLP is seeking a paralegal with 3-5 years of experience to support practice areas including insurance defense, toxic tort, premise liability, product liability, and transportation. The firm represents a variety of clients, from global corporations to small local businesses and individuals, in high-risk litigation and business disputes across the country and U.S. Territories. The successful candidate will join a national team of 250 lawyers and professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Managing cases, including maintaining document control, calendaring docket deadlines, and coordinating and monitoring local counsel
• Preparing and organizing documents such as forms, charts, and letters
• Reviewing and summarizing depositions and records
• Facilitating expert retention, providing materials to experts, and coordinating deadlines for expert reports and depositions
• Assisting with trials, including organizing trial documents and exhibits
• Preparing for depositions and hearings
• Reviewing and producing documents
• Drafting discovery documents and form pleadings/motions
• Requesting and organizing records
• Maintaining client records
• Assisting with e-filing

Requirements

• 3-5 years of paralegal experience in similar practice areas
• Strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated initiative and self-direction
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
