Responsibilities
- Record Management
- Medical Chronologies
- Case Management
- Support legal team by requesting, analyzing, and case-capture records for clients, attorneys, and experts
- Draft discovery response shells
- Conduct case research via Internet or through local libraries
- Organize and prepare both outline and narrative summaries of the records for internal use and for presentation to the client
- Analyze billing material to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the evidence
- Prepare case analysis
- Identify issues, omissions, and discrepancies
- Identify and provide information regarding trial experts and coordinate expert deposition preparation
- Assist attorneys with evidence preparation and organization for hearing or trial
- Compose and type document production including case analysis memoranda for attorneys, outline and narrative summaries, and chronologies of case facts, correspondence, and reports
- Compile data for exhibits
- Conduct preliminary legal research as necessary
Requirements
- Prior civil litigation experience
- Experience in the area of Medical Malpractice, General Liability, Employment Law, Condominium Litigation issues is a plus
- Familiarity with L & A codes, billing software, and proven competency to capture time and bill according to guidelines in a timely manner
- The ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure of multiple deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform well within a team environment
- Familiarity with court procedures
- Extensive experience with researching, scheduling, drafting legal documents, follow-up/follow-through, and filing pleadings in state and federal courts
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good common sense
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
