Responsibilities

  • Record Management
  • Medical Chronologies
  • Case Management
  • Support legal team by requesting, analyzing, and case-capture records for clients, attorneys, and experts
  • Draft discovery response shells
  • Conduct case research via Internet or through local libraries
  • Organize and prepare both outline and narrative summaries of the records for internal use and for presentation to the client
  • Analyze billing material to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the evidence
  • Prepare case analysis
  • Identify issues, omissions, and discrepancies
  • Identify and provide information regarding trial experts and coordinate expert deposition preparation
  • Assist attorneys with evidence preparation and organization for hearing or trial
  • Compose and type document production including case analysis memoranda for attorneys, outline and narrative summaries, and chronologies of case facts, correspondence, and reports
  • Compile data for exhibits
  • Conduct preliminary legal research as necessary

Requirements

  • Prior civil litigation experience
  • Experience in the area of Medical Malpractice, General Liability, Employment Law, Condominium Litigation issues is a plus
  • Familiarity with L & A codes, billing software, and proven competency to capture time and bill according to guidelines in a timely manner
  • The ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure of multiple deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform well within a team environment
  • Familiarity with court procedures
  • Extensive experience with researching, scheduling, drafting legal documents, follow-up/follow-through, and filing pleadings in state and federal courts
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good common sense
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with court procedures
