About the role
Christie’s, the world’s largest Art Business, seeks an experienced and motivated Paralegal to join its team in New York City. The role supports a diversified, high volume portfolio of domestic and international lending transactions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain UCC filings and comparable international registration filings, including financing statements, amendments, continuations, and terminations
- Process and track outside counsel legal invoices and manage e-billing systems, including Legal Tracker
- Cook document execution processes and maintain transaction files and closing records
- Conduct research using legal, financial, and public information databases, including Westlaw, SEC/EDGAR, and other relevant sources
- Support client due diligence efforts, including Know Your Client (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) review processes
- Aid CAF attorneys with the preparation of loan documentation, where needed
- Organize and maintain global contract templates database
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- At least two years of relevant experience, preferably in paralegal or legal assistant roles with top-tier law firms or in-house legal departments
- Experience supporting secured lending, asset-based lending, commercial finance, or other financing transactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and well-developed professionalism and interpersonal skills
- Interest in the art market and enthusiasm for learning about auction processes and art-backed lending
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
