Paraeducator (PWS)

About the role

The Inter Related/Instructional Support (IRIS) paraeducator works closely with teachers to provide extra support to students with learning disabilities, though support can extend to students with any type of disability. This position involves working in both general and special education classrooms, as well as with individual students.

Responsibilities

• Note taking
• Absorbing and reviewing content with students
• Reading material aloud to students
• Helping students stay on task
• Escorting students to quieter locations

Requirements

• Pass a background check
• Have a current TB test
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Be a strong team player
• Have basic computer and math skills
• Enjoy a fast-paced environment
• Be able to spend 80% of the day standing and 20% walking

Qualifications

• Maintain regular and acceptable attendance/punctuality
